Who We Are
About SemiPoker
We’re a team of Malaysian poker players and writers dedicated to helping local players find safe, reliable online poker sites — with honest reviews, no fluff.
Our Mission
Built by Malaysian Players, for Malaysian Players
SemiPoker was founded in 2026 with one goal — to cut through the noise of generic poker affiliate sites and give Malaysian players a resource that actually reflects how online poker works here.
Most poker review sites are written for a global audience and ignore the specific challenges Malaysians face: finding sites that accept MYR, understanding which e-wallets work, navigating the legal grey area, and avoiding platforms that delay or deny withdrawals.
Everything we publish is based on firsthand testing. We open real accounts, make real deposits in MYR, play real money games, and request real withdrawals before writing a single word of review.
The Team
The People Behind SemiPoker
Real names, real experience. We believe you should know who is writing the reviews you rely on.
Ahmad has been playing online poker since 2016, grinding cash games across multiple platforms. He founded SemiPoker after spending years frustrated by reviews that ignored MYR payment issues and local banking realities. He personally tests every site before it appears on this site.
Sarah covers poker strategy, tournament guides, and beginner content. A recreational player since 2019, she writes for players at every level — from first-timers learning hand rankings to regulars looking to improve their MTT game.
Kevin focuses on the banking side — testing deposit and withdrawal methods, verifying FPX and e-wallet compatibility, and monitoring cashout times. He ensures every payment claim we make is verified with a real transaction.
What We Stand For
Our Editorial Values
These aren’t marketing words — they’re the rules we hold ourselves to on every review and article we publish.
Firsthand Testing Only
We never review a site we haven’t personally deposited and played on with a real MYR account. No exceptions.
Honest Negative Findings
If a site has slow withdrawals or poor support, we say so — even if we earn commission from it. Our readers come first.
Regularly Updated
Poker sites change their terms, bonuses, and payment methods frequently. We re-test and update our reviews every quarter.
Full Transparency
We disclose every affiliate relationship clearly. You always know when a link earns us a commission and when it doesn’t.
Malaysia-Specific
We only cover sites and topics relevant to Malaysian players. No copy-pasted global content that ignores local context.
Responsible Gambling
We promote safe play, include responsible gambling resources on every page, and never glamourise gambling losses.
Our Process
How We Test & Review Poker Sites
Every site that appears on SemiPoker goes through the same structured testing process before we publish a rating.
Register a Real Account
We sign up as a regular Malaysian player — using a local email, Malaysian IP, and without identifying ourselves as reviewers. This ensures we see the same experience as any player.
Test MYR Deposits via Local Payment Methods
We deposit using FPX, Touch ‘n Go, GrabPay, and local bank transfer where available. We record exact processing times and any fees charged.
Play Real Money Games
We play cash games and join at least one tournament to assess game variety, software quality, player traffic, and table speed.
Request a MYR Withdrawal
We initiate a real withdrawal and record the exact time from request to funds received. This is the most important test — it’s where many sites fail.
Contact Customer Support
We submit a support query via live chat and email to evaluate response time, quality of help, and whether Bahasa Malaysia or English support is available.
Score & Publish
We assign a score out of 10 across five criteria: payment methods, withdrawal speed, game variety, mobile experience, and customer support. We then write an honest summary of what we found — good and bad.
